In my Facebook feed I came across a post in a Fitbit group I follow. The article posted ends with the quote above and started with "Take off that Fitbit. Exercise alone won’t make you lose weight. Quite the headline to stir up a group of Fitbit fans. I guess that was the goal the Washington Post author had, get people buzzing and draw more eyes to the article and the Washington Post. The health news today is buzzing about A Norwegian study published in the British Medical Journal. It reports 30 minutes of exercise 6 days a week reduces the risk of death 40%. Another statement is the life is extended 5 years. So does all this mean that if I start exercising in old age, I will live longer? Nah, I doubt that is what it means. Beth's Favorite Fish Recipe
This recipe is derived from the New American Heart Association Cookbook. I guess I could claim it as my own since I've changed it to meet our needs, but they got this one started. No oil in my diet....really?
On April 16, 2015 UC Davis's Rosane Davis published an article making the arguement that "When we eat oils, we do immense damage to our cardiovascular health, we decrease our insulin sensitivity, we take in hundreds of empty calories and we damage our immune system. We don’t need them and we should avoid them ALWAYS." Wow, that seems to be a really tough order.
